Please state how you are an overcomer.“Ron Raglin served as the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Support Programs and Alignment and the AVID District Director for School District U-46 from 2012 until his untimely passing on August 26, 2019, due to complications from surgery. With over 20 years as an AVID teacher and administrator, he made a significant impact on the lives of thousands of students. Known for his unwavering commitment to justice and equity, Ron dedicated his career to advocating for all students, mentoring them, and ensuring they had the opportunity to realize their full potential.Throughout his 35-year career in public education, Ron was deeply involved in teaching and coaching, with a profound dedication to his faith, often sharing his beliefs and the Word with those around him. His exemplary contributions were recognized through numerous awards, including being named MVP at the Jerry Sloan Summer Basketball Camp in 1978. In 1998, he was honored as one of Merced College's 35 Outstanding Alumni during its 35th Anniversary celebration, and he received the Community HERO Award from the Merced Sun Star and Save Mart the same year. Most recently, on January 19, 2019, he was awarded the 34th Annual Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Humanitarian Award in Elgin, IL.”
